The Atlanta Seventeen, generally recognized as one of the finest big band dance groups available today, takes you on a musical excursion in sound by recreating the smooth and stylized arrangements from the name bands of yesteryear.

To experience this dynamic, well-rehearsed ensemble in action is a delight for big band enthusiasts of all ages who identify with the kind of excitement generated only by precision playing. The blended reeds, strong but subtle brass and pulsating rhythm section speak with a cohesion and unity rarely heard these days.

Now in its fifth decade of performing for both dances and concerts, the band still has one original member who, over the years, has been joined by exciting new talent, bringing fresh ideas and ongoing inspiration.

Immaculately attired in the uniform of the evening and dazzling in appearance, the group becomes the central focus of attention for dancers and onlookers alike. The Atlanta Seventeen has been featured at ballrooms of the Hyatt Regency, Ritz-Carlton, Westin Lenox, Hyatt Ravinia, Marriott and other fine hotels; at country clubs such as the Piedmont Driving Club, Atlanta Country Club, Cherokee Towne Club, Atlanta Athletic Club; and at special events and conventions held in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre, World Congress Center and the Omni. The band has also performed throughout the Southeast including Asheville's renowned Grove Park Inn.

The Atlanta Seventeen is comprised of a unique group of business and professional executives, successful in their individual vocations by day, who are talented musicians by night.

We feature the song styling of the lovely and inimitable Lani Sibley, singing all the big band favorites that will have you dancing the night away.

The Atlanta Seventeen is organized as a non-profit corporation and has donated a substantial portion of the proceeds of many appearances since the year 1960 to over 50 worthy local and national organizations and foundations. This unprecedented commitment by a performing group has made it one of Atlanta's icons.

Time Magazine, in a feature article, once described the band as "a light-hearted group of after-hours instrumentalists".

In presenting their fine music, the group has even discovered a current generation of fans in high schools and colleges avidly following their parents in appreciating the big band sound, such as the Georgia Tech Swing Dance Association.
For those who lament, "where have the big bands gone?" just say they haven't gone anywhere. They're still here, live, with the. . .

Atlanta Seventeen - the finest in big band entertainment.
